Using accessories for hairstayles

We can often notice how jewellery and different accessories are used in hairstyles. Using accessories is something I actually love to do! Most of my looks have accessories in it, obviously depends on the topic as well. I use jewellery not only for hairstyling but for makeup too as for example for a Carnival Look:

Coming back to our Technical Step-by-step:

Tools:

  • Tail comb
  • Kirby pins
  • Hair band
  • U-shaped pins
  • Jewellery
How to:

  • Start with sectioning the front. Create a side parting(or whatever you prefer).Take the front section away, just before the ear. This is going to help you with modelling your hairstyle easier and recreate the look without touching the back of the hair.
  • In this case we are creating a chignon! So, start with gathering all the remaining hair at the back, in a ponytail.
  • Comb through the ponytail and add a small amount of back-combing.
  • Once you are done with the back-combing, twist it upward and hold it with kirby pins. They are stronger than the other ones and they can hold weight.  from the middle of that shape created, gently gather towards the sides.
  • Once it meets the head, Use U-shaped pins to pin the sections.
  • Then start working with the sections at the front and start creating the look: it can be plaits or twisted hair like in my case or even create different shapes.
  • I brought them to the back of the head and secured them into that chignon I have created earlier.
  • Then add your jewellery to it.

Remember that if you are using heavy jewellery you might need to add paddings to your chignon because it will make it more secure.
