For the timed assessment I finally had the opportunity to apply the whole look on the model. I was little bit worried for both hair and makeup as I have never tried it before on the actual model and I was scared that something might go wrong or won't look as I imagined it.
I have started with the makeup, starting with cleaning the skin and moisturizing. After blending well the moisturizer into the skin, I applied Laura Mercier oil free Primer and blended it well into the skin by massaging the face. I used a little bit of MAC Strobe cream on the cheek bones, centre of the nose, the forehead, chin and lip bow, just to illuminate those areas. I applied the foundation afterwards (MAC Studio Fix). I contoured the face Using the Smashbox Contouring kit, to put in evidence the structure of the face. After blending all the shades, I applied a very small amount of powder all over the face. Then I started to work on the eye makeup. I first applied Kryolan SupraColor Creating first the shape I needed and the going all over again for a darker shade, as at first attempt of applying it it wasn't as dark as I wanted it to be. After this I used the Illamasqua Natural Palette and repassed the eye makeup with black eye shadow on top. As the Kryolan Supracolor is a grease based product and it doesn't dry, I felt it necessarily to apply the eyeshadow for2 reasons: 1- because this way the makeup on the eyelid doesn't get smudged when the model is opening her eyes and 2- because this way I achieve that black shade I want. Once I finished with the eyeshadow I applied mascara on the eyelashes and applied the Illamasqua false eyelashes on. Afterwards I finished the face contouring by retouching it with the Illamasqua bronzer and the Revolution highlighter, and then moved on to the lips. I first applied the red MAC lipmix colour on the edges contouring the lips, putting in evidence the shape. Then, using the white MAC lipmix I applied in onto the inner side of the lips smudging the white colour onto the red.
Once I finished with the makeup, I started to work on the hair. I started by sectioning the hair in 3. on each side I took small sections and created 5 small twists. The twists weren't too long. They only arrived to the temple height. Then I back-combed the hair from the centre part as well as all the ends from the twists. The back-combing I did, was very light and gentle. After that I started the Dutch plait and continued it all the way down. I have started to loosen the braid and in the end when I have styled the braid I pinned the plaited tail under the braid.
Overall, I am pretty happy with the final result I achieved and most of all I love the way the hair looks. Due to the fact that the model has her roots of a different colour than the rest of the hair and in my point of view this is why it makes it look so strong and defined.
