Inspiration for the catwalk look

To create my first catwalk look I have looked for different things that could inspire me and that could use for creating the design. First of I have looked at the Spring/Summer 2016 hair and makeup trends. After that I have also looked at the Gareth Pugh's collection. I have also researched the style and the concept behind the collection, so that I can introduce all these concepts in the design I created, and it had to incorporate the Ellis Faas style as well.

While looking at the Spring /Summer 16 trends I really liked the Idea of big and "fluffy" eyelashes that I wanted to introduce in my design. At the same time I have taken in consideration the colour of the season-Blue, and the "eyeliner" trend.

Avant-garde and gothic, are the adjectives that describe Gareth Pugh's style, and this is exactly what I wanted to show through my design too. So, bold, dark eyes was what I have imagined, and I kept looking at the makeup created at different shows for other designers. One that I have actually loved is the one for the Vivienne Westwood's fashion show.

"The other was ‘a life on the ocean wave’, which sees highwaymen as pirates via black smudged make-up across the eyes. Val says, “The girl’s make-up may have started as a beautiful smokey eye, but she fell overboard and messed her make-up up.” - Explanation of the inspiration behind the makeup design for Vivienne Westwood's show.(Vivienne Westwood (website),2016). I took it as inspiration for my own design but introducing at in the concept of the avant-garde makeup.
I Continued my visual research and found inspiration in some images that I thought could reflect not only the Gareth Pugh's style, S/S16 makeup trends and in some way reflects Ellis Faas' too.

And looking at some looks created by Ellis Faas that were part of my inspiration too:

The whole idea of my look was to create something different and unique, something that reflects the Avant-garde style of both Gareth Pugh and Ellis Faas but keeping the season's trends.
