Test Shoot For the Catwalk look

I organised a test shoot to practice not only the hair and the make-up but the lights, posing and angles as well.  I did the pictures on a grey background because at the beginning I thought that it will work perfectly, even though I changed my mind and in the end I decided to take the actual pictures towards a black background. I think that this way it's easier to create the idea of a picture taken on the runway. The only obstacle I think I might have is that as the model has really dark hair, towards a black background it might be not visible. I am scared that the hair is going to fade with the background.

For this images I used 2 lights, 2 soft boxes to be more specific. For the hair and makeup came out to be as I wanted them to. I created dewy skin on my model, which represents freshness and youth with a very light contouring as the model has already very defined cheek-bones. The eye design was- blue eyeliner, with a square fleek. This square end was inspired by the actual makeup from the runway. On the runway the blue makeup applied on the models looks more like a very high eyeshadow, but at the edges it comes out to be straight, "connecting" the eyelash line with the eyebrow. For the lips, I have tapped a little bit of red lipstick on the lips. I didn't want to make it to bold, as even on the runway, on some models the lips don't look overdone. They seem more like it was given a little bit of pigment to the natural lip colour. In addition, I didn't want to make it look exaggerated as the hairstyle is already sophisticated in my point of view. Sometimes less is better.
The most difficult part was the hair styling because of the steel wires that I used. It was hard to make them stay still in the ponytail. I have done the ponytail first and the tried to incorporate the steel wires into it, but this way I was moving the entire hairstyle and I damaged it. So, I had to redo the ponytail and to include to the steel wires before tying the hair in a ponytail. The I have created the twists on each wire and I have tighten them with clear, small hairbands. The remaining hair that I had, I wrapped it around the ponytail, creating a bun. At the end of each twist I added the golden Pagliettes.
I have also tried to create the outfit similar to the one that was on the Gareth Pugh's runway. Obviously it doesn't look the same as the one from the collection, but at least is similar and rends the idea that I was aiming for. I sticked the paglietts on a leather-similar jacket that I had that had more or less the same similar shape. I haven't put as many pagliette for several reasons. One of them because I thought to make it similar and not the same. Anyways I think I have reproduced the main idea.
Taking in consideration all these obstacles I met while creating the look I am very happy with the result achieved.
